While the style is understated, the Tyrant boasts countless under-the-hood tech breakthroughs including Wind Tunnel Ventilation and MIPS Spherical technology. MIPS Spherical utilizes a pair of foam layers that work like a ball and socket to redirect impact energy in a crash. One layer is EPS, which is well suited to high-speed crashes. The other is a lower density EPP foam with rebound characteristics to address low-speed, roll-around-in-the-dirt-type spills. The added coverage of this full cut design further enhances protective capability, while taking helmet design in a new direction for riders seeking style over speed.

The MIPS(Multi-Directional Impact Protection System) is a slip-plane system within the helmet designed to rotate inside the helmet with the intent to potentially slow or reduce the amount of energy transferred to or from the head possibly reducing head injury from rotational impacts.

The In-mold construction fuses a tough polycarbonate outer shell with the helmet’s impact-absorbing foam liner. The fusion process allows for better ventilation systems, making in-mold helmets lighter and cooler than traditional helmets.

The Wind Tunnel elaborate design combines active vents in the helmet’s shell with exhaust channels inside the helmet that thrust fresh, cool air over and around the rider’s head while forcing heat and stale air out.
